Member Scholarships

The Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association Member Scholarships program supports the educational goals of the immediate family of any member. Each year, we award $700 scholarships on a competitive basis to any RISAA member in good standing—or an immediate family member, including a child, stepchild, grandchild, sibling, step-sibling—who is currently a high school senior and plans to enroll in any college, university, or post-secondary training program within one year of graduation.

The student does not have to be pursing a degree in marine science. Any degree program at any college or university is acceptable.

To apply, please fill out the form below. Please be aware that at the end of the application, we will be requesting uploads of :

• A short composition describing the student’s personal goals and reasons for applying
• A copy of the personal essay from the student’s common app
• A document describing personal extra-curricular achievements.

To complete the process, the student must have their teacher or guidance counselor submit an electronic copy of their transcripts and a letter of recommendation to michel@risaa.org.

Both the student and parent need to sign the form at the end of the process. To start the application process, please fill in the form below.
