In less than 36 hours, we have had over 100 applications for the 50 participant slots. Due to this unprecedented demand, camp applications are now closed.
After a successful post-COVID return, the fishing camp is on again this summer! This day camping experience is co-sponsored by RISAA, RIDEM and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, with the cooperation of the City of Warwick, RI.
This year’s camp will run June 27-29 at Rocky Point State Park. Day 1 is basic instruction and shore casting activities, day 2 is a group trip on a charter boat and day 3 offers a small-boat fishing experience on the boats of RISAA members and volunteers.
Open to all RI residents age 7-12 who have not participated in past years, this is a wonderful opportunity to introduce them to the joys of saltwater angling in our state. Limited to 50 participants, this is a small-group, individual, hands-on opportunity to introduce your child to the fishing part of living in the ocean state.
Due to the generosity of the sponsors, participation is completely free. Just drop off and pick up your child for the three days, and the program will handle the rest.
